Internal parasites are a threat to the health of horses and may cause irreparable damage. Parasites are small organisms living a portion of their life cycle within the internal organs, body cavities and tissues inside the horse. There are more than 150 internal parasites; however, only a few commonly cause significant health problems.

The common class of internal parasites causing health problems for horses is nematodes such as large and small strongyles, ascarids, and tapeworms. Other less harmful parasites like pinworms and botfly larvae are also typically considered when applying parasite control.

Pets are adorable. Whether its a new puppy or kitten or any other type of pet that suits your fancy the most desirable period of time is usually when you are about to acquire or have just acquired your new pet. This honeymoon period may last for days to weeks to a lifetime.

The Irish Setter is an active, lovable dog. She is full of spirit and needs plenty of exercise. She is a watch dog but not a guard dog. She can get along with other dogs but it is best if she is socialized with other pets early. She is patient with children. As a reminder, never leave a child unsupervised with a puppy or dog.

Approximate Adult Size

The approximate adult size (two years old or older) of the male Irish Setter is 26 to 28 inches to the withers (highest point of the shoulder) and 65 to 75 pounds. The female ranges from 24 to 26 inches to the withers and 55 to 65 pounds.

Tracking dogs follow a lost person’s path from a starting point to where the person is. These dogs are able to seek lost people because they are trained to discriminate human scents. In other words, they don’t seek for any human scent, but for one particular scent.

There are two main types of tracking tasks: wilderness search and urban search.

Urban tracking is usually more difficult for the dogs because the tracks have every kind of odors, including other people scent, pets scent and other scents. In addition, odors don’t last long on artificial surfaces like pavement. And, as if it wasn’t difficult enough, there could be lots of distractions while the dog is tracking: several people walking around, other pets nearby, etc.

In the wild chinchillas are ground dwelling animals living in crevices in rocks and belong to the group of animals known as ‘rock hoppers’.

The judge will look into the mouth of the Shih Tzu or other dog breed to check for the correct number of teeth and the bite. I mean after all, do you ever see a winning Miss America with no front teeth? The same holds true for Shih Tzu and other dog breeds in the show ring. Missing teeth is a disqualification in many of the breeds.
