Miniature horses are one of the fastest-growing equine breeds in the world today. These elegant and cute horses, no taller than 38 inches (from the withers to the last hairs), are attracting a lot of attention. They can be bred like regular horses and even ridden.

Miniature horses require tack similar to a regular horse. It includes bits, carts and wagons, harnesses, saddles, bridles, reins, halters, girths or cinches, martingales and other accessories, but in smaller sizes than for normal horses. Most miniature horse tack equipment is made of fine leather for strength and durability. Some accessories such as curb straps and stirrup hobbles are also available in different colors, such as natural, light, dark, black, and burgundy.

Most of the tortoises are aquatic reptiles, which need to be in the water while feeding, in order to be able to swallow. In most of the cases, even if you put their food on land, they will drag it into the water and only there eat it. You can leave alive animals in the turtle’s water, in case those are aquatic, too. In case you feed your turtle on insects that are not aquatic, don’t let the food on land for more than a few minutes. You should remove it and than place it again on the ground next time you feed your turtle. Adult tortoises need to eat about three times in a week, but cubs must be fed every day.

Okay, so Nicky wants to bite the mailman. I mean, the guy is just doing his job, and certainly does not deserve a dog bite! Nicky is generally so sweet and at ease with your family and friends, so why does he act like a vicious dog and threaten dog attack on postmen? Could it be fear based aggression?

Confused, you actually have to forcefully restrain Nicky from sinking his teeth into the postman, who has become your friend.

Let’s face it- we have millions too many animals in our world today, largely due to the fact that many people either refuse or are unable to spay or neuter their pets. To help combat the pet overpopulation problem, we have animal shelters.

However, most animal shelters are critically understaffed and underfunded. Volunteers of any kind are always needed!

If you choose to spend some of your time volunteering* in any way for a local animal shelter, here are some things you can do which will greatly help the shelter.

Many parents worry about having a cat in the home with children. They worry not only for the safety of their child but also that of the cat’s. However cats are wonderful companions for children and for many it is the first real friend that they make. Generally speaking the benefits far out weigh any problems and as long as parents oversee the interaction between the two all will be well.

Under normal circumstances your dog will be able to eat and profit from almost anything you give him, including almost all of the food items forbidden by rumor and fear. Milk, for example, will not cause worms in dogs, any more than it does in you. Raw meat will not cause worms any more than cooked, (which is not at all), nor will it make him vicious.

If you feed your dog nothing but raw meat he will thereby suffer from an unbalanced diet, malnutrition, and may get irritable and touchy. One item that is not recommended is pork in any large amount. Pork and particularly pork fat, is an extremely rich meat and can easily overburden a dogs system.
